ConfusedTarget shopper finds Valentine’s Day Stanley cups in stock
An excited shopper was disgruntled after Target allegedly blocked her from buying a Valentine’s themed Stanley Cup that appeared to be available for purchase.
An apparent glitch in the system proved to be a bizarre and frustrating moment for a Target shopper trying to get her hands on a special edition Valentine’s Stanley Cup.
Target shopper goes viral for apparent Stanley Cup Valentine’s mishap
2023 has been the year of the Stanley Cup. Having been praised for surviving explosions, the hefty water bottles have become all the rage, and appear to have overtaken the iconic hockey championship of the same name when it comes to virality.
Yet one unfortunate shopper appeared to have gotten a shock when she claimed to have excitedly rushed to purchase a special Valentine’s Day version of the product, only to be told by the checkout machine at Target that the cup was not yet available.
Despite supposedly picking up the “jackpot” item off the shelf, the shopper, Nikki Camara, was then allegedly met with an error message that read “Item can’t be sold until 12/31 12:00AM”, meaning the product supposedly would only be available from the final day of the year, despite appearing to be on sale already.
The Focus has reached out to Target for clarification on the claims made in the video.
TikTok community fails to sympathize with Stanely Cup shopper
While Camara appeared rather annoyed by the mishap, the comment section on TikTok was less than sympathetic towards her.
“I wouldn’t ask a manager,” wrote one nonplussed viewer. “I would have gone back, grabbed a different Stanley.. paid.. and proceed on my way”.
Her sentiments were echoed by a number of commenters who suggested that Camara should have just paid for a different Stanley and taken the Valentine’s Day one away in its place: “I wouldve definitely switched it with another Stanley tag… (then) they have to sell it”.
Camara appeared unperturbed by the 600,000 views she received, however, and proceeded to post the rest of her Valentine’s Day Target haul:
Valentine’s Stanley reportedly now available
While shoppers like Camara were having difficulties purchasing them previously, the release date mentioned in her video was December 31 – meaning the cups should now be on sale.
Though there are not currently any Valentine’s Day-themed products in Target’s official Stanley Cup range, a TikTok account dedicated to Target has also appeared to confirm that the cups are due to release on December 31:
So if you want to get in the mood for Valentine’s Day early, now is your chance to get down to Target to get your hands on the most romantic Stanley Cup you’ll see!
