Cheaters are using secret code with peppers in grocery stores for infidelity

If you see your partner only pushing along bell peppers in their grocery store cart, were sorry to tell you that they might be cheating – maybe.

Humans have been dating since the dawn of time, and while a cavemans relationship trend might have been sharing his cave paintings, weve clearly run out of ideas in 2024. Just a few months after the ridiculous Soft Guy Era trend, cheaters are hunting for their next infidelity kick in your local grocery store.

Bell peppers are a cheaters veggie of choice

Cheating is perhaps one of the more serious relationship transgressions, whether that be infidelity with an AI bot or with a normal human being. Nonetheless, some still argue that cheating is natural

As passionate defenders of morals, The Focus is keeping you up to date on all the ways that cheaters are taking advantage of their partners. The latest involves red bell peppers of all things.

The trend was seemingly started by the UK’s largest and longest-running dating site Illicit Encounters, which proudly platforms itself as for married people wanting to have an affair.

In the forum section, one user lordly outlined the The Bell Pepper Code which unfortunately has nothing to do with how to cut the vegetable.

“What if we start a secret code in the most mundane place of all THE SUPERMARKET,” they penned. “Its perfect! No one would ever suspect that your weekly food shop could lead to something a lot more… sizzling.”

They suggested that the code should be two bell peppers with the stems downwards into the basket or cart.

Think about it. Youre casually browsing the aisles and suddenly you spot someone with the telltale peppers in their basket. Your eyes meet. Theres a knowing glance. An instant connection, all thanks to a couple of peppers, they added.

Cheaters seemed keen, unfortunately

Though we already know that Apples iOS 18 made cheating easier, if this trend takes off, we could see grocery stores becoming the new hot spot for infidelity.

In the comment section of the post, one person wrote: “Worked for me, kind of! I picked up my couple of peppers and headed for the frozen aisle. Next to the Yorkshire Puds I noticed someone else with peppers in their trolley, there was a bit of an awkward smile and we spoke for a bit.

“I don’t think we were quite right for each other but it was nice to have a chat with someone else who clearly isn’t [happy] in their relationship.”
