Cats are getting wrapped up as adorable ‘Purritos’ and it’s the cutest thing on TikTok
Take a clingy cat and add a tightly wrapped blanket, and the recipe concludes with a Purrito – the internet’s most adorable trend.
In one of the most wholesome trends in recent pet TikTok memory, cat owners are indulging their needy kittens by tightly wrapping them up like mini ‘Purritos’.
Young kittens just want to be Purritos
What do you get when you cross a burrito and a purring cat? A Purrito, of course!
No, don’t worry, cats are not being turned into burritos. Rather, social media crowds are flocking to see young kittens being kept warm by as many blankets as their owner can find.
“Everyday Poppy asks to be made into a purrito”, wrote the parent of the popular social media cat Poppy, much to the delight of the two-and-a-half million users who liked the video:

“My ‘Purrito’ would scratch my eyes out” joked one commenter in response to another adorable tightly-wrapped kitten:
For those cat owners who are in charge of a pet who won’t scratch your eyes out, however, there’s a pretty handy tutorial available.
According to TikTok star Abram Engle, constructing Purritos is the easy bit; it’s getting your cat in there that can be the hard part.
Simply start by laying out a large blanket (your tortilla); then fill it with lettuce and sour cream (more blankets); before finally adding the meat – your cat!
Proceed to gently roll your cat along with the blankets, being sure to check that they are still able to wriggle about and can set themselves free, if need be.
Just make sure that your cat isn’t overly warm, has ample space to breathe and, crucially, remember that Purritos don’t go in the oven.
