Burger King are offering a $1 million prize if you can redesign their iconic Whopper
It’s all about the toppings, to win a $1 million prize through Burger King’s latest Whopper contest. The latest challenge lets you redesign the signature sandwich with toppings of your choice.
The website will also produce an AI image of the burger you’ve created after your submission, which can be shared across social media.
Burger King has a $1 million Whopper contest
Burger King announced the Whopper sandwich contest on Monday, February 5, 2023, which is open through March 17, 2024.
The participants, however, must hold a Burger King Royal Perks account to contest and must be legal U.S. residents, 18 years or older.
The fast food chain notes in its press release that the contest is a true embodiment of the restaurant’s reputation – to allow customers to customize the signature sandwich however they like.
The contest simply lets you put your creativity to the test while offering the chance to bag a whopping $1 million prize.
“More than 50% of guests customize their Whopper sandwich, and now, the possibilities of what those customizations include are endless,” the statement reads.
Whether your final entry makes it to the official menu for a limited period or not, the process will still allow you to reimagine the Whopper sandwich just the way you like using AI technology. The AI tool recognizes restricted non-edible food items in entries.
How to enter the 2024 challenge
Follow the below instructions to submit your entries for the 2024 Burger King $1 Whopper contest. You don’t need to purchase any menu item to participate.
- Visit the Burger King website or the official app.
- Make sure you have a Royal Perks account to sign in.
- Create your customized whopper by picking at least three or a maximum of eight toppings.
- The patty can be of your choice – either a 100% Flame Grilled Beef patty or an Impossible patty�- and it doesn’t affect your entry.
- Submit your entry after selecting the ingredients you wish to see in your burger.
The restaurant has selected three judges to pick the top three entries at the end of the submission period in March. The finalists will later be invited to Burger King’s headquarters in Maimi to make any modifications to their creations before they appear on the menu nationwide.
The customers will cast a vote for their favorite Whopper from the three final entries and the creator of the winning sandwich will bag $1 million and also have their creation appear on the official menu briefly.
Rules to keep in mind
Keep in mind the below criteria surrounding the toppings to make sure your entry isn’t rejected.
- All toppings must be eligible food items.
- The name of the toppings must be written in English during the entry and each shouldn’t exceed 25 characters.
- Do not include toppings consisting of peanuts, crustacean shellfish, and beverages.
The restaurant advises entrants to use toppings that are safe for consumption and have a variety of ingredients. It is also important to keep in mind that the toppings must be feasible and easy to store in Burger King’s freezer or refrigerators.
The toppings must also be easy to prepare using the equipment already available at the Burger King kitchen.
