Blue light from devices causes ‘brown spots’ on your skin, warns doctor

Modern lifestyle heavily depends on technology without realizing the harm it’s doing to our overall health.

Although fancy features on your phone can make you appear more beautiful in pictures, the artificial light causes great damage to your skin. Therefore, a naturopathic doctor recommends the lights off when you don’t need them to enhance your natural beauty.

Artificial lights can cause ‘brown spots’ on your skin

It is well-established that blue light from devices such as phones and television can profoundly impact sleep, health, and longevity.

But did you know any form of artificial light could cause hyperpigmentation? If you’re startled by the sudden appearance of brown spots on your skin, perhaps you should watch your screen time.

Dr. Janine Bowring discusses the findings of a recent study, which shows that exposure to artificial light can cause hyperpigmentation.

This isn’t limited to your gadgets and devices. Even the light emitted from the pretty chandelier in your house or light bulbs can similarly affect your appearance.

How do you mitigate the harmful effects of artificial light? Dr. Janine recommends turning the lights off in your home when you don’t need them. She suggests lighting candles or a fire for natural source of light as a safer alternative.

Keeping phones close to your body makes you age fast

In a different video, Dr. Janine warns against sleeping beside your phone or holding it too close to the body.

The electromagnetic fields emitted by these devices are extremely damaging and cause premature aging by disturbing the quality of collagen in the skin.

Dr. Janine Bowring says the manmade EMFs can untangle your collagen, thus causing it to lose its piezoelectricity. Your electrons become lost, your collagen becomes weaker, and thats when you can start to see more fine lines, she explains.

She recommends plugging your smartphone for charging in a different room to create more distance between you and the device. It isn’t advisable to bring your phone to bed as it disrupts your sleep cycle.

Dr. Janine Bowring is a naturopathic who graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Science in 1994 and went on to earn her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine Degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She boasts over two decades of experience.
