Blue Bell’s new ice cream flavor pays special tribute to famous dessert from St Louis

Blue Bell is marking its debut in St. Louis with a new flavor of ice cream inspired by the region’s traditional dessert.

The ice cream company announced the new flavor on March 18, the same day the product hit shelves across the United States.

Blue Bell announce Gooey Butter Cake Ice Cream

Blue Bell’s new ice cream flavor is tailored for people who haven’t tasted St. Louis’ famous dessert.

Blue Bell’s limited-edition ice cream is not only filled with flavors you find in the popular flat cake, but it comes with tiny chunks of the cake to enjoy with every bite.

The press release notes that the  Cake Batter Ice Cream combines a “luscious cream cheese swirl” with “rich, gooey butter cake pieces.”

Commenting on their new flavor, Carl Breed, vice president, of sales and marketing for Blue Bell, said:

“There are delicious pieces of cake in each bite. And our Cake Batter Ice Cream combined with a cream cheese swirl is, as they say, the icing on the cake.

Blue Bell’s new flavor of ice cream comes in half-gallon and pint sizes. It’s only available for a limited time.

The new flavor has fans drooling

The limited-edition ice cream is treated as a substitute for the actual dessert thanks to the warm weather.

“Omg yes! If the bride’s cake isnt available Ill definitely try a butter cake. I hope I can find it!,” commented one.

“I need this flavor so bad in my life,” said another.

A third fan said: “That looks wonderful and I cant wait to try it!”

While you’re at the store, you can also try Blue Bell’s Cinnamon Twist Ice Cream, released before the Gooey Butter Cake flavor.

Its “rich flavor” consists of creamy ice cream with hints of brown sugar and cinnamon combined with tasty cinnamon bun dough pieces and a cinnamon icing swirl.
