Best man throws engagement ring overboard in disaster proposal with a twist
A video of a man accidentally throwing the engagement ring overboard during his best friend’s proposal has resurfaced online.
It took over social media back in 2020 but was re-shared on Twitter/X this week and is making people gasp all over again – but all is not as it seems.

Best man throws engagement ring overboard
In the viral video, a guy called Miles is proposing to his girlfriend Angie on a boat in Florida in front of a beautiful sunset.
He asks his best friend who is on the boat behind the camera to throw him the ring box, but disaster strikes.
The best man throws it too hard and accidentally tosses the jewellery overboard into the middle of the ocean.
Another friend quickly leaps into the water to retrieve it in his denim jeans as the others scream in the background.
The happy couple have stood up by this point and are peering over the edge of the boat trying to spot the ring.
“Are you kidding me?” a woman squeals in shock, and the guy in the water then thankfully shouts: “I’ve got it!”
However, panic strikes again as the friend opens the box up to find it empty and the video ends with someone shouting: “He lost the ring!”
The whole thing was actually a prank
The clip has left everyone on the edge of their seats wondering if the diamond was ever found. Actually, it was never lost!
It was all a prank set up by Miles and you can hear someone shouting “‘It’s a joke!” in the full version shared on YouTube.
Some romantic music then plays and the guy goes to get the real ring and proposes to his girlfriend properly.
Everyone cheers in the background as she agrees to marry him and the happy couple share a kiss in front of the sunset.
“So I had a crazy idea… and wouldnt of pulled off without all of you!” Miles wrote on Instagram after the proposal.

Internet users were in shock
People online thought the clip was real and were in disbelief at the disaster proposal.
One person wrote: “That’s crazy.”
“He’s not my best friend after that,” said another.
A third person added: “Worst wingman of the year.”
“He just ruined her day,” someone else wrote.
