Astronaut gives heartwarming personal message for boy bullied over space-themed clothes
An astronaut made a little boys day so much brighter with a heartwarming message after bullies pushed him to chuck away his space-themed shirts.
Amongst the viral dances and questionable influencer moves, there are some truly great moments on social media apps like TikTok and Instagram. This is one of those moments.

The boy received a lot of support
Big sister Meg (@macacochiquito0) posted a heartbreaking story for her followers on Sunday after her brother came home from school distraught.
Just me crying because my 6-year-old brother came home from school and threw away all his outerspace shirts with astronauts and planets on them because some kids keep calling them stupid, She wrote on the video while adding in the caption, Now he will only wear cool cloths like nike and underarmor, kindergartners are brutal.

Naturally, the internet leapt to the boys defence, with the official account for the California Science Centre penning: Space is awesome, and so are YOU, young scientist! Proudly wear those space shirtswe know a future astronaut when we see one!
More impressively, the official Star Wars account wrote: Space rules. Dont let anyone tell you differently.
But the truly heartwarming moment came when another creator, Vanessa (@thevanessahernandez), stitched Megs video with a special tribute from her father, engineer and NASA astronaut Jos Moreno Hernndez.
Whos crying?
Jos has a rather brilliant story that has been described across numerous books, articles and even a film. The astronaut hoped his message would inspire the boy to continue with his love of space.
Hello. Im astronaut Jose Hernandez, and I want to tell you that you should still keep wearing your clothes that have space, rockets, and planets, he said. Because I tell you, if I would have listened to my friends when I told them I wanted to be an astronaut and they said it was a dumb idea, I would have never been able to wear this flight suit and go up into space because Im an astronaut and I flew on Space Shuttle Discovery to the International Space Station for 14 days on a mission. And it took me 12 attempts.
He added: NASA rejected me 11 times, but I never gave up. Even though my friend said it was a silly idea, I just kept going forward, forward, forward.
This is why you should not be afraid to wear your space-themed clothes. You should be proud of them. And hopefully, if you study hard, Ill see you working at NASA with me.
Meg later showed her brother the clip and he seemed genuinly thrilled with the astronaut’s kind words.
