Arachnophobes could learn a thing or two from grandmas expert spider handling technique

A grandma has shown the kids how to do it as she courageously picked up a spider by its leg. Unfortunately, she then proceeded to do the unthinkable.

Arachnophobia is one of the most common fears in the world, and for good reason too when you consider the behemoths out there. It also doesnt help that, at least once a year, experts warn of incoming spider invasions.

How to properly pick up a spider, grandma-style

Though no one is expecting you to pick up mushroom-infested tarantulas or deadly arachnids like Black Widows, most common household spiders are completely harmless. In fact, if you can leave them alone, you totally should.

However, if you wont be able to sleep without tackling your spider issue, then Alfie Wrights (@alfiewrightheadquarters) grandma has some tips for you.

In a viral TikTok this week, which has amassed 8.5 million views and 800k likes, Alfies grandmother giggled as she said, Look how big at the spider in the sink. Admittedly, it was a fairly large spider.

If youre copying grandma, then you should immediately plunge your hand toward the arachnid without any fear. Aggressively try to grab it as it flees, aiming for one of its eight hairy legs.

Alfies grandmother captured the critter almost instantly, dangling it for the camera as she took it outside.

TikTok users were shocked by the level of skill, as one person penned: I actually wish I wasn’t scared of spiders imagine how easy life would be.

EVEN THE DOG WAS SHOCKED, another screamed, as someone else wrote, Omg while I have a huge spider in my room rn I need her.

Grandma is a spider murderer now

Though most TikTok users celebrated the grandmother for kindly releasing the arachnid outside, they clearly didnt understand the death sentence she was inflicting.

Animal lovers learned this troubling fact last month as Alex Falcone (@alex_falcone) revealed the truth about releasing spiders in his unfun facts series.

Every spider youve carefully put a cup over, and slid a piece of paper under, and then gently released outside, died outside, he said. They cant live out there. Im sorry you had to find out this way.
