Americans are swearing off McDonalds after employee allegedly put expired milk in milkshake machine

Americans are sharing fast-food horror stories after a McDonald’s employee seemingly poured expired milk into the milkshake machine.

Despite the negative health detriments being very apparent, the fast-food business is booming across the world. It doesn’t even seem to be slowing down, with the likes of Starbucks teasing releases in the future like pecan-flavored beverages.

The McDonald’s milkshake machine is working, kinda

McDonald’s, who are said to be testing a new Big Arch burger, are notorious for claiming their milkshake machine is either broken or switched off. Though customers have long theorized that this is an excuse, it might be better to keep it closed if a recent viral TikTok is to be believed.

“POV: Your GM tells you to put the expired milk in the milkshake machine,” they wrote on the post, while the caption reads, “Talking bout he saving money&no you trynna kill somebody.”

The milkshake machine resembled a large metal drum, with a mechanism in the middle that keeps the mixture churning. In the viral post, which has since garnered nearly 80k likes, @tel2raww could be seen pouring what appeared to be milk into the drum.

It’s difficult to say categorically, considering it was visibly chunky.

In the comment section, people claiming to be McDonald’s employees said the practice was fairly standard at their branch.

Ive been working at McDonalds for almost three years, and I didnt know about this until my manager told me a while ago. They do this so they are not wasting the product and money, one said, as another alleged, We do that but NOT when theyre that bad, just like day of, then we clean them out the same night so it never goes bad, just nothing gets wasted.”

Someone needs to check on the fast-food industry

The comment section of the video quickly turned into an enormous overshare of graphic fast food details. From mopping the floor with dirty water to lettuce filled with bugs, it seems the American fast-food industry has a few creases to iron out.

“When I worked at Arbys all of our lettuce was slimey and filled with bugs (like an insane amount even after washing) and I would get yelled at when I would throw it away,” one person said.

Another said: “I work at Subway and when we got our inspection they made up throw food away, after they left the GM had us get it out of the dumpster.”

“Dairy Queen used to force us to use the slop cups (the ones that would sit out all day and be used collected melted icecream) as milk bases for milkshakes. I would toss them when they weren’t looking,” someone else revealed.
