Amazon delivery driver attempted to steal customer’s dog from backyard, but it backfired
An Amazon customer in Georgia was left stunned after the arrival of her Prime package coincided with the removal of her canine pal.
The bizarre theft has left the shopper feeling justifiably paranoid about online shopping, though Amazon says that the member of staff in question is no longer employed by the retailer.
Amazon driver believed to have stolen dog from customer
An overfamiliar delivery driver has made the headlines after he allegedly helped himself to a customer’s dog while out delivering for Amazon.
As reported by Atlanta News First (ANF), Amazon shopper Terrika Currence was standing in her garden in Henry County conversing with the driver, who reportedly told her that “the dog was pretty” and that he would “love to have a puppy.”
Currence took no notice of the seemingly innocuous comments, but before she knew it her daughter pointed out that their Red Nose Pitbull was being “lured” into the driver’s van.
Currence quickly proceeded to approach the vehicle, promptly opening up the door and repeatedly screaming “Amazon done took my dog”, in an altercation she recorded on her mobile phone. The unnamed dog thankfully managed to walk out of the vehicle before the driver could vacate the premises.
Driver sacked by Amazon but no news of arrest
Amazon was quick to apologize to the affected customer and a spokesperson for the company issued the following statement to ANF:
“Weve apologized to the customer and glad their dog was returned unharmed. The driver involved is no longer delivering for Amazon and weve reached out to law enforcement to assist as they investigate.”

Though it was reported at the time that Henry County police were investigating the incident, though there have been no confirmed reports of any arrests.
Currence admits “relief” over driver sacking
Currence has expressed that she is thankful that the driver is no longer associated with Amazon though has admitted she is concerned about what the unnamed delivery man may do next:
“It gives me relief that hes fired but if hes doing things like that, Im sure, you know its in his character. Hell do it again.
Currence also noted that the incident has left her young daughter feeling afraid of the prospect of a similar incident re-occurring in the future:
“With my daughter, I really have a hard time with her now because now she’s in fear that every time a delivery driver comes, they’re potentially going to take the puppy”.
