Illinois congressman Adam Kinzinger explained his absence from the Jan 6 anniversary remembrances by tweeting that he was on “baby watch” – he and wife Sofia Boza-Holman are expecting, but when is the baby due?

When is Adam Kinzinger’s baby due?

It’s been sixth months since his initial announcement.

Yesterday, in response to CNN journalist Manu Raj’s observation that Dick and Liz Cheney were the “lone two Republicans in the House chamber” as Pelosi opened up the floor for a moment of silence, Kinzinger tweeted that he was there “in spirit”.

Adam Kinzinger’s baby is due very soon, it seems. A few hours later, he tweeted again, saying that he “would have loved” to be there, but was unable to attend – “I have a baby making his entrance into the world at any moment”.

This will be Adam Kinzinger and Sofia Boza-Holman’s first child together.

How long have Adam Kinzinger and his wife Sofia Boza-Holman been married?

Kinzinger married Ms Boza-Holman in February 2020. They had a destination wedding in Guatemala, tying the knot on February 16 (two days after Valentine’s Day) after an engagement period of seven months.

Their wedding took place at the Convento de las Capuchinas, a historic convent in Antigua. Kinzinger’s hometown pastor officiated the marriage.

“I am one very lucky man to now have such an incredible woman as my wife”, Kinzinger said in a statement at the time.

Did Kinzinger and Boza-Holman’s baby play a part in his decision not to run for reelection?

Adam Kinzinger announced in October last year that he would not run for reelection, although it’s not clear to what extent starting a family played a role in his decision-making.

But he did mention it.

“I went in as a single man,” he said. “And met the best woman ever and now we are excited to welcome a baby boy in January.”

Judging by this, it is clear that Kinzinger and his wife’s due date falls in January, although neither has revealed the specific date publicly.
