Add dog photos to your dating profile

Dog training app Woofz surveyed 2,000 dog ownersto find out how their furry pet impacts their dating life and found that a staggering 71%of them said they find profiles that contain photos of dogs more attractive.

Pictures with dogs may suggest that the person is caring, nurturing, and responsible, which are all attractive qualities. So, it might be time to start adding some cute puppy pics to your Tinder, Bumble and Hinge.

It also obviously tells potential matches they are dog-obsessed – a trait which is a must for many. 69% of pet owners admitted that they simply wouldnt date someone who doesnt like dogs, so it can be a deal-breaker.

73% of the participants added that they would even go as far as to dump a partner who doesnt get along with their pet.

Another dating app study by Canine Cottages analyzed which dog breeds men and women are most likely to swipe right on.

They found that the 10 most desirable dogs for male daters are:

  1. Staffordshire Bull Terrier
  2. Chihuahua
  3. Mixed breed
  4. Cockapoo
  5. Jack Russell
  6. German Shepherd
  7. Cocker Spaniel
  8. Labrador
  9. French Bulldog
  10. Shih Tzu

Women are most likely to match if they have photos of:

Dogs can help and hinder relationships

It’s not just dating apps where dogs can help you find a future partner either. 1 in 14 dog owners admitted that they have used walks to try and find a potential match, purposely walking in areas they know are popular with other dog owners.

1 in 33 people said they have borrowed a dog to appear more attractive during a date – but others think owning a dog actually makes dating more difficult.

27% of pet parents claimed they have been accused of loving their dog more than their partner, which can cause issues. A further 13% said they are regularly called out for loving their furry friend more than their significant other.

This can cause feelings of jealousy, which 10% of dog owners admit to. 4% said they often feel envious of their partner’s relationship with their dog.

“Our research reveals that dogs can both strengthen love or hinder it – it comes down to compatibility, so if youre not asking for your matchs opinion on pets during the first date, its time to start,” Natalia Shahmetova, CEO of Woofz said.

“If your attitudes towards animals arent aligned, youre barking up the wrong tree.”
