Suing Bud Light for not transporting customers to a beach with hot women
Budlight Beer used to be known for adverts displaying attractive women on the beach, perfect for their target audience. Customer Richard Overtun however reportedly said he was left suffering emotional distress and financial loss after spending his money on Budlight beer, which was advertised to trigger “scenic tropical settings [and] beautiful women and men engaged in endless and unrestricted merriment” but didnt quite do it in real life.
He sued Anheuser-Busch for $10,000 in 1991, but the case was ultimately dismissed.
Suing Michael Jordan for looking like Michael Jordan
In 2006, a man who apparently looks a lot like basketball legend Michael Jordan filed a lawsuit against his celebrity doppelganger and Nike for just that.
Allen Heckard reportedly attempted to gain $416 million from Jordan and a further $416 million from Nike, because the brand made Michael Jordan so famous. He claimed to suffer from emotional suffering because he looked so much like Jordan and was left unable to live a normal everyday life because of it. In the end, though, Heckard dropped the lawsuit.

Pants worth $67 million

Red Bull does not give you wings actually
Everyone knows the iconic slogan Red Bull gives you wings but one customer was unhappy with it. Benjamin Careather filed a lawsuit against Red Bull in 2014, citing that the drink does not actually give a notable premium energy boost, any more than say a coffee would, which is contrary to the brands “wings” marketing.
Red Bull agreed to pay Careather a settlement of $13 million but remained adamant that they did not falsely advertise.

Starbucks was in hot water, for the opposite reason
In 2016, a Starbucks customer attempted to sue the coffee chain for putting too much ice in their drinks. The plaintiff alleged that Starbucks was overfilling drinks with ice in order to give less of the actual drink. The customer claimed to be receiving less drink than advertised.
The court dismissed the case and claimed that any reasonable consumer would not be deceived into thinking that when they order an iced tea, that the drink they receive will include both ice and tea and that for a given size cup, some portion of the drink will be ice rather than whatever liquid beverage the consumer ordered.
$100 for 20 cents
According to Reader’s Digest, a New York customer attempted to sue Burger King for a 20-cent saving on her order. The customer cited that a large Coke cost her 89 cents at the nearest Burger King, yet she could find one for 69 cents at a further away location.
She sued the chain for $100 as compensation for the distance she had to walk to save on the Coke order. Burger King won the lawsuit.
Finding fingers in your fries…
In 2005, a Wendy’s customer sued the chain after claiming to find a finger in her chili. The customer went to the national press with her claim and reportedly filed a lawsuit against Wendy’s. After authorities began to investigate what might have happened, the customer suddenly dropped her lawsuit.
Wendy’s soon filed a criminal complaint against the customer, suspecting that she planted the finger herself. Anna Ayala and her husband were reportedly sentenced to time in prison for the ordeal.
