5 new fast food items out this week, including a ‘peanut butter’ burger from Sonic
Its an exciting week in the world of food as fan favourites like Panera, Chick-fil-A and Sonic are set to release brand-new inclusions like the innovative peanut butter burger.
Fast food may not be the best for you, but boy does it taste good. There is a reason why brands like McDonalds and Subway make billions of dollars every year, and its not because they are particularly healthy. In that spirit, here are some new releases from your favourite brands that are guaranteed to have you salivating.�
Chick-fil-A
On January 8, fast-food giant Chick-fil-A relaunched a beloved favourite from back in 2020, the Mango Passion Sunjoy. The drink is a fruity combination of the brands Chick-fil-A Lemonade and sweet iced tea with mango and passion fruit flavours.
The Passion Sunjoy is just one of the new drinks as it joins the Mango Passion Lemonade, Mango Passion Iced Tea and Mango Passion Frosted Lemonade.�
Customers loved the Mango Passion flavor when it was on our menu in 2020, so we are thrilled to bring it back with even more flavor offerings for guests to enjoy, said Allison Duncan, Director, Menu & Packaging. Were seeing a growing demand for cold and iced beverages from consumers throughout the year, with recent enthusiasm for our Watermelon Mint and White Peach beverages, as well as our new Peppermint beverages this winter.
Sonic
Drive-in eatery Sonic is launching a brand new burger and milkshake that will be available to purchase from January 8 to February 4. The unique flavour pairing is the peanut butter and bacon double cheeseburger and a peanut butter bacon shake. Yum!
Mackenzie Gibson, vice president of culinary and menu innovation, said: Peanut butter and bacon is not a combination youd expect on a cheeseburger and you definitely wouldnt think to combine these flavors into a shake, but at Sonic, we ignore what everyone else considers normal to deliver innovation thatll make guests shout, Hell yeah, Sonic!.
Panera
This week, Panera is adding two new hot sandwiches to its ever-expanding roster in the hopes of beating off the bitterly cold weather. The first is a yummy Bacon Avocado Melt, which includes applewood-smoked bacon, avocado and a gorgeous smoked gouda.
The second sandwich is a Southwest Chicken Melt, which is pulled chicken, smoked gouda, red onion, cilantro and a spiced chipotle aioli.�The new treats are now available to early access members.
Nothing Bundt Cakes and REESE’S
In this limited edition snack available from January 8 to February 25, Nothing Bundt Cakes and REESE’S are back with another gorgeous combination. The rich chocolate cake, baked with chocolate chips and peanut butter chips, is topped with signature cream cheese and peanut butter sauce.
“We wanted to offer our guests the sweetest start to the new year, and there is no better way than by baking up the most iconic flavor pairing chocolate and peanut butter,” said Claire Jessen, senior director of culinary innovation at Nothing Bundt Cakes. “We know our new REESE’S Chocolate Peanut Butter cake is a dessert worthy of a New Year splurge.”
Krispy Kreme
If you love donuts, then you’ll be ecstatic to learn that Krispy Kreme has resurrected an old beloved flavour. Along with everyone’s favourite Biscoff-flavored donut, including the cheesecake variety, the company has launched a brand-new Biscoff chocolate iced cookie butter crunch Donut.
Fans were thrilled by the decision when it was announced in December, with one person gushing on social media: Roll me in butter, cookie butter.”
