19 acting couples who got together after starring in the same project
Film and TV sets have become a hotbed of romance for Hollywood stars over the years and plenty of acting couples began their love affairs after starring in the same project.
Its a tale as old as time, whether in the form of a relatively recent celebrity couple like Tom Holland and Zendaya, who crossed paths while filming the latest Spider-Man trilogy, or Hollywood legends like Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, who first met while on the set of Bosom Buddies all the way back in 1981.
1. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
Arguably the most famous on-set romance that blossomed into a Hollywood relationship was that of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie who spent much of 2004 filming the original Mr and Mrs Smith together.
Brangelina, as they became known, officially got together after Pitt divorced Jennifer Aniston in 2005. They married in 2014 but Jolie filed for divorce two years later in 2016.

2. Rose Leslie and Kit Harrington
Game of Thrones brought fans seven seasons of top-tier TV (and whatever the hell season 8 was) but for Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie, it sparked a romance that is still going strong to this day.
The pair first shared scenes on the fantasy series in 2012 and went on to get married in 2018 and have since had two children together.
3. Tom Holland and Zendaya
Tom Holland and Zendaya first met when they began filming Spider-Man: Homecoming together in 2016 and dodged dating rumors during the movies press tour.
After reportedly dating other people for a while, their relationship sparked into life in 2021 and they have been together ever since.
4. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds
Hollywood power couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds began dating in 2011 after they met on the set of Green Lantern a year earlier.
The pair tied the knot in 2012 and have since had four children together.
5. Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead started dating after starring together in season 3 of the Fargo TV series and both later went on to appear in 2020s Birds of Prey.
After McGregor divorced his first wife, Eve Mavrakis, they married in April 2022 and are parents to a son.
6. Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield
Much like Zendaya and Tom Holland, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield began dating after working together on 2012s The Amazing Spider-Man.
The pair were together for four years before breaking up in 2015. �
7. David Tennant and Georgia Tennant
Doctor Who star David Tennant met his wife-to-be Georgia Moffett (now Tennant) on the set of the long-running sci-fi series when they appeared together in the 2008 episode, The Doctors Daughter.
They married in 2011 and have five children. The Tennants would go on to star together in the incredibly cathartic comedy series Staged which was made during the lockdowns enforced by the Covid-19 pandemic.
8. Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem
Despite initially crossing paths while working on the 1992 film Jam�n Jam�n, it wasnt until they starred together in 2008s Vicky Cristina Barcelona that they began dating.
They married in 2010, have since had two children and have separately starred in the two most recent Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
9. Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander
Irish actor Michael Fassbender began dating Oscar-winning Swedish co-star Alicia Vikander in 2014 after they met on the set of The Light Between Oceans.
After marrying in Ibiza in 2017, the couple have since moved to Portugal and had a son together in 2021.
10. Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher
Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher first met in 1998 on the set of That 70s Show where they played fictional couple Jackie and Kelso.
The pair went their separate ways after sharing their first kiss on the sitcom until they reconnected in 2012 before they married in 2015 and they have two children together.
11. Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes
Ryan Gosling has dated several of his former co-stars including Sandra Bullock (Murder by Numbers) and Rachel McAdams (The Notebook) and his ongoing relationship with Eva Mendes is another.
The couple have been together since meeting on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011 and have two daughters.
12. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Afflecks relationship is a long and storied one that dates back to the duo starring in the 2001 film Gigli. They dated between 2002 and 2004 and were even engaged before the wedding was postponed just four days before the event.
Between 2005 and 2018, Affleck was married to actress Jennifer Garner after working with her on Daredevil and Pearl Harbor. Lopez, meanwhile, was married to singer and actor Marc Anthony between 2004 and 2014.
In 2020, however, the couple rekindled their relationship and in July 2022, they finally tied the knot.

Channing Tatum met Jenna Dewan on the set of the 2006 dance movie Step Up and they would go on to marry three years later in 2009.
The couple had a daughter together in 2013 but divorced in 2019 after separating a year earlier.
14. Kaitlin Olson and Rob McElhenney
Always Sunny in Philadelphia co-stars met on the set of the long-running sitcom back in 2005 and became romantically linked in 2006.
After keeping their relationship secret for a year, even from their co-stars, the duo eventually revealed their relationship and married in September 2008 and have since had two sons together.
15. Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn
Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn form one of the longest-standing couples in Hollywood. They first met while filming 1968s The Ony and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band but did not become an item until they crossed paths again in 1983 on the set of Swing Shift.
Despite being together for more than 40 years, the couple have never married. They have two children including fellow actor Wyatt Russell and joined each other on set for Netflixs The Christmas Chronicles movies.
16. Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks
Another legendary couple in the world of Hollywood are Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks. The duo met on the set of Bosom Buddies in 1981 and crossed paths again in 1985 while filming Volunteers.
They didnt link up romantically until after Hanks divorced his childhood sweetheart in 1987 but quickly tied the knot in 1988 and have been together ever since.
17. Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar
Freddie Prinze Jr and Sarah Michelle Gellar are another long-standing relationship in Hollywood after the pair met while filming 1997s I Know What You Did Last Summer.
They became romantically involved in 2000 and married in 2002. In the two decades since then, they have had two children.
18. Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons
A more recent romance in the world of acting is that of Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons who met while playing husband and wife in season 2 of the Fargo TV series in 2015.
Dunst and Plemons officially became a couple in 2016 and married six years later in 2022 and are parents to two sons.
19. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith
And finally, we end with another hugely high-profile Hollywood romance with Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.
The pair crossed paths in 1994 when Jada auditioned to play Wills love interest on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. While she wasnt cast in the role, Jada and Will began dating shortly after and married in 1997. They are parents to Jaden and Willow Smith.
In October 2023, Jada revealed that she and Will had separated in 2016 but said that they were not planning on divorcing officially. At the 94th Academy Awards in 2022, Will Smith infamously slapped host Chris Rock after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith having a shaved head.
