The kitchen is the heart of most people’s homes. It’s the first place we go for our morning coffee, the last place we see while stacking the dishwasher before bed and also the space area most commonly used for entertaining.

For that reason, it’s the space people put most time into designing and everyone wants theirs to look Instagram-worthy, but there are so many different styles. From modern to farmhouse, shaker to rustic – which are the most popular in 2024?

The number one kitchen trend

Top of the list was modern kitchens, which are renowned for their sleek flat surfaces, angular designs, and clean lines.

They are the centerpiece of many homes due to their open space and simple color palettes, with white, grey and black being most popular.

These stylish, minimalist spaces often have innovative features and clever storage solutions, with a focus on functionality.

People going for a modern style often choose to have nothing out on the worktops, creating a sleek, elegant look.

Farmhouse and country aren’t far behind

However, farmhouse and country style kitchens weren’t far behind as people opt for more homely and classic designs that “combine coziness with functionality”.

Farmhouse kitchens have blown up on social media, bringing the look of a countryside farmhouse to the mainstream.

They’re often characterised by hardwood countertops, wooden tables, panelling, beams and other rustic designs.

Country kitchens are very similar, with lots of white and raw wood, reminiscent of cosy homes in the countryside.
