Why did William Afton kill the kids in Five Nights At Freddy’s?

Though it is never confirmed why Afton killed the kids, the book’s give a deeper insight into William’s character and potential reasons as to why he did what he did.

The novels which hint at the reasons for his acts are titled Twisted ones and The Silver Eyes and The Fourth Closet. They suggest that he killed the kids as a way of achieving immortality. In ways, the books suggest he did it as a power move to leave his imprint on the world and others’ lives. It is also thought that he was competing with Henry and wanted some level of notoriety.

Others say that he went insane after his children, CC and Elizabeth died, which led him onto the killing spree of the children. Since Chris and Elizabeth Afton both died William certainly lost the plot. He pulled a knife out on his wife when they went dancing.

His wife who was concerned about her husband, and possibly fearing for her life, accidentally drove off a cliff. Things got worse when he killed the 6 kids, Jeremy, Fritz, Gabriel, Susie, Charlie and Cassidy. He then ended up getting spring locked by the kids after setting their souls free, they finally got their revenge.

Many also think that it was Glitchtrap controlling him, although it seems as though Afton was the legitimate killer. Especially after he learned of “Remnant” he certainly had a desire to kill.

Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach explained

Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach takes players on a venture of fighting off a completely new cast of animatronics. As the eighth instalment in the horror series, this gameplay will allow characters to roam free as a kid called Gregory who is stuck inside Pizzaplex.

Gregory is helped by Freddy who could be protecting Gregory in staying away from becoming a murderous bot. As some gamers believe that in previous FNAF’s the bots are possessed by the souls of dead children.

Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach is out now on Steam, PS4 and PS5.
