Manchester United look set to make greater use of the loan market this season.
A report by Yahoo Sport outline a host of young players who are set for spells away from Old Trafford in order to get greater experience and gametime.
They claim Ethan Galbraith is one Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to keep at the club this season, which means he may well get his first team chance at some point.
But what do we know about Galbraith?
Galbraith is a full international
Still only 19, Galbraith has made his senior Northern Ireland debut already.
He played in the 1-0 home victory over Luxembourg in September 2019, having made international appearances at multiple youth levels beforehand.
He’s played European football
United fielded a youthful side against Astana back in November and that gave Galbraith his senior debut for the club.
The midfielder replaced Angel Gomes on 89 minutes during the 2-1 Europa League group stage defeat.
He joined United in 2017
Having completed much of his footballing education in his native Northern Ireland, Galbraith joined United on a one-year scholarship in 2017.
He penned his first professional contract in 2018, and will be hoping to make his league debut this term.
When will Galbraith get his opening?
Donny van de Beek’s arrival has bolstered United’s central midfield options further this summer, making it even more difficult for prospects like Galbraith to force their way through.
That said, it will be a hectic season and rotation is key. If United get a few midfield injuries, opportunity could knock for Galbraith.
