Chelsea winger Victor Moses is reportedly close to joining Spartak Moscow on loan, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Nigerian international is yet to feature for The Blues this season and hasn’t played competitively under Frank Lampard. He has also been left out of the side’s Champions League squad.

The 29 year-old is out of contract with Chelsea at the end of June and is seeking game-time. His last Blues outing came back in October 25 2018, a substitute appearance in the Europa League against BATE Borisov.

Although the English transfer window for overseas acquisitions shut on Monday at 23:00 BST, the Russian deadline ends October 17, and Moses is allegedly keen to seal a move to the Russian capital.

No return to Inter

This summer, Moses was linked with a return to Inter Milan, whom he joined on loan for the second half of last season. However, Romano insisted the Nerazzurri rejected the opportunity to re-sign the versatile midfielder.

Last January, he was brought in by former Blues boss Antonio Conte, with whom he won the 2016-17 Premier League title and the 2018 FA Cup at Stamford Bridge.

He made 20 appearances for La Beneamata and provided five league assists from 12 games.

He helped the side claim second place in Serie A, reach the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia and finish as runners-up in the Europa League.

Back to back loans in Turkey

Prior to his move to Inter Milan, Moses enjoyed successive short-term loan spells in Turkey with Fenerbahce.

Moses initially joined in January 2019 until the rest of the campaign. The winger scored four goals in 14 league appearances and provided an assist in one of two Europa League games.

While Moses helped Fenerbahce finish sixth in the league and reach the Europa League’s round of 32, his parent club went on to win the competition.

He rejoined the Istanbul outfit for the first half of last season, and scored and assisted on his season debut.
