These Everton fans were over the moon with Tom Davies’ performance against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.
Before kick-off, Davies had already played 15 Premier League matches for Everton, but so far hasn’t managed to score or assist from his midfield role.
This isn’t terrible news though, as the 22-year-old is mainly a defensive-minded midfielder.
The Englishman is a Toffee at heart, originally coming from their youth side and worked his way up the academy to earn a spot in the first team.
Davies mainly started to break into the senior side around 2017, which is maybe why it seems like the 22-year-old has been around for so long despite his young age.
Nevertheless, he put in an impressive performance against the Toffees’ toughest rivals and gained praise from his supporters.
Here’s what the Everton fans were saying about Davies on Twitter:
Everton – bouncing back against their rivals
Everton opened the scoring with Richarlison netting in just the third minute of the match, assisted by James Rodriguez.
The score stayed 1-0 all the way until half-time, with the only major happenings being yellow cards for Andre Gomes and Ozan Kabak.
Gylfi Sigurdsson has brought on in the 59th minute with Gomes making way after being booked.
The Icelandic midfielder would turn out to be a great substitution, scoring late in the match to finish off the result for Carlo Ancelotti.
This was a big win for the Toffees and they will be hopeful that the momentum will roll onto their next couple of fixtures.
