These Everton fans were loving Jordan Pickford after his impressive display against Merseyside rivals Liverpool on Saturday.
Pickford had a great game against the Toffees biggest rivals on Saturday. So good that Whoscored made him their man of the match with an 8.1/10 rating.
The Englishman made six saves in total and kept a clean sheet, despite Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino trying their hardest to get past the 26-year-old keeper.
One concern from the Toffees point of view, could be the poor distribution from Pickford.
The 26-year-old only completed 31% of his passes, which compared to Alisson’s 90%, just goes to show how bad the Englishman’s passing was.
Nevertheless, the Everton fans were thrilled with Pickford’s performance and likely even happier that it came against their fiercest rivals.
Here’s what the Toffees supporters had to say about Pickford on Twitter:
Everton – defied the stats to beat Liverpool
When looking at the stats, the Toffees are second-best in nearly every aspect of the game.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side had less possession, shots, corners, dribbles and successful passes than Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
However, only one stat matters at the end of the match, and that’s the score.
Richarlison only had one shot on target, but the Brazilian was clinical enough to convert it into a goal within five minutes of the match starting.
Gylfi Sigurdsson was the only other goalscorer. He too only had a handful of chances, with just two shots on target.
But that didn’t stop the Iceland international from scoring late in the match to put the final nail in the Reds coffin.
