What is Wagyu beef? Arby’s drops new burger
If you’re on the lookout for new food to try, Arby’s just released its first ever burger and it’s already going down a treat.
Alongside classic burger ingredients cheese, tomatoes, lettuces, pickles, and onion, Arby’s latest addition will include Wagyu patties.
If you’re unfamiliar, Wagyu is a breed of cattle native to Japan. As reported by BBC Good Food, the beef has a unique tender and buttery flavor, thanks to the marbling.
Likewise, Wagyu is incredibly sought-after and also costs a pretty penny – but more on that later.
According to Sportskeeda, Arby’s new burgers will contain 58% of American Wagyu and 48% regular ground meat and is set to be double the size of a McDonald’s quarterpounder.
The same publication reports that Arby’s will cook the meat using the sous vide method. In other words, the burger will be cooked for a longer time under a low temperature, resulting in tenderness.
“Instead of focusing on making billions of mediocre burgers, we’re taking a stance on high-quality meat that deserves to be cooked properly,” Patrick Schwing, the chief marketing officer for the company, explained.

Arby’s Wagyu Steakhouse Burger price revealed
Arby’s first burger has a pretty inexpensive price tag, leaving fans shocked.
According to USA Today, the burger will be priced from $5.99, but prices may vary depending on location.
Nonetheless, foodies are impressed at how much Arby’s Wagyu Burger will set them back, given that a 6-ounce American Wagyu filet mignon can cost up to $69.
As per BBC Good Food, prime cuts of the beef cost up to £150 a kilo – that’s $187!
Of course, Arby’s reasonable price of $5.99 could be due to the fact that the burger also contains regular ground meat, according to Sportskeeda.
What do fast food fans have to say about the burger?

“You bet I already got Arby’s Wagyu Burger,” another wrote.
