Over the years, Sprite has become known for its festive Sprite Cranberry drink as it returns each year for the holiday season.
In more recent years, a spiced version of the popular beverage has hit the shelves. Following its addition, fans of the original have taken to social media year after year as they hope the OG makes a comeback.
As the festive season is already underway, some have wondered if the OG Sprite Cranberry is coming back in 2021 or 2022. Let’s take a look…

Is the Sprite Cranberry original coming back in 2021?
No. The original flavour of Sprite Cranberry did not make a comeback this festive season, but the spiced version did.
However, in 2019 the popular drink was reformulated as Sprite’s Winter Spiced Cranberry was released. A zero-calorie edition of the drink has since been introduced to the Winter Spiced Cranberry range.
Sprite unveiled the zero version on 1 November as it announced the return of the Winter Spiced Cranberry on Instagram:

Fans want the OG flavour back
As the spiced version returned this year, fans have continued to share their hopes the original will make a comeback on social media:
One dedicated soda fan has even created a petition on Change.org to The Coca-Cola Company who owns Sprite which has more than 10,000 signatures.

Could it return in 2022?
It’s unlikely. Even Sprite themselves have squashed hope of a possible return of the original cranberry flavour previously on Twitter.
