If you were around in the early days of the internet, you might be familiar with the Wikipedia “high five” couple.
The duo feature on the online encyclopedia’s high five page as they demonstrate variations of the hand gesture via a series of pictures.
This week they caught the attention of Reddit users as the ‘high five couple’ shared updated versions of the pictures, leaving people curious to know more about them.

Meet the high fiving couple on Wikipedia
On the Wikipedia High Five page, you may have spotted a series of four snaps in which a couple act out the classic high five sequence known as the “too slow”.
The pictures see the pair high fiving up top then switching to down low before the guy moves his hand to catch the girl out. The fourth picture sees the guy pointing at the girl with finger guns along with the caption: “Too slow.”
The “too slow” pictures were reportedly uploaded to the site more than a decade ago, in 2008. Since then, they have stayed in their central position on the page despite past debates about removing them.

Get to know the couple behind the pictures
The couple behind the “too slow” high five pictures on Wikipedia are Tim and Tamara O’Nan, who live together in Southern California.
The mystery couple were tracked town by Annie Rauwerda, known as depthsofwikipedia on Twitter, Instagram and TikTok, as she shared their story in a piece for Input magazine.
Tim is now a maths tutor, while his wife of 11 years, Tamara, is a physician’s assistant. They have two daughters who are seven and four years old.

Couple share updated high five snaps 14 years on
This week Tim and Tamara shared updated pictures of them with their daughters as they recreated the iconic Wikipedia shots 14 years on in a post to Reddit.
