Sanpaku eyes indicate eyes where the white part of the eye, the sclera, is visible in three places. The term ‘sanpaku’ comes from Japanese and roughly translates to ‘three whites’.
There are two types of sanpaku eyes, yang sanpaku, which refers to where the white above the iris is visible, and yin sanpaku, where the white below the iris is visible.
