Caught up in the missing persons investigation involving 22 year old Gabby Petito, Internet sleuths have been mining the joint Spotify account of Petito and fiancé Brian Laundrie – Nomadic Statik – for clues. Here’s what people have said about Nomadic Statik’s Spotify playlists, including one titled Mtn Tops.

Authorities investigating Petito’s disappearance, reported missing on Saturday, 11 September, said on Sunday that human remains found in Wyoming are “consistent with the description of” Petito, CNN reported today.

Is Nomadic Statik Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie’s shared Spotify account?

The Nomadic Statik Spotify profile has created 11 public playlists, has 5,504 followers, and follows 84 other accounts.

It appears to be under Gabby Petito’s name. However, its most popular playlist, Mtn Tops – liked nearly 2,000 times and featuring almost 12 hours of music – was created by “Brian” – presumably Brian Laundrie, Petito’s fiancé.

The Nomadic Statik Spotify profile shares a name with the pair’s placeholder website and a YouTube channel, which has just one video upload, dated 19 August 2021.

Beginning Our Van Life Journey has racked up nearly 4M views, presumably buoyed by the notoriety of the ongoing investigation into Petito’s disappearance.

What songs are on Petito’s Spotify playlists?

The New York Post and Fox5 have both written about the songs on Nomadic Statik’s various Spotify playlists, in an attempt to perhaps uncover some information about the missing woman.

Fox described the most recent additions to the Mtn Tops playlist as “haunting”, while the Post quoted a lyric from Woman, by Matt Berry. Woman was added to the playlist on 1 September: “Your woman is your angel, is your left side, is your whole life; easily the most beautiful thing in the world.”

The playlist also features songs from English rock band Radiohead, American indie folk band Bon Iver, and American songwriter Kevin Morby.

While some of the lyrics of some of the songs featured on Nomadic Statik’s various Spotify playlists may be, as one social media user has described them, “slightly concerning”, sounder minds have advised against searching an individual’s Spotify history for clues in the case of a missing person.

Theories regarding Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie’s Spotify activity proliferate

One social media user, one of a number of internet sleuths searching for clues in Nomadic Statik’s most recent Spotify activity, claims that someone was listening to music “potentially on Gabby’s [Spotify] account” earlier today.

Another claims to have identified a distinct change in mood, as new uploads appeared on the Mtn Tops playlist.

Meanwhile others, sifting through Gabby’s Instagram for clues, have argued that her two most recent uploads were in fact, “not posted by Gabby”. One comment claiming such has almost 25,000 likes.

The official investigation remains ongoing. According to the most recent reports, the FBI’s search of Brian Laundrie’s family home in Florida ended yesterday.
