She attended Dartmouth College achieving her bachelors in psychology in 1986. Wiley then went on to study for her Juris Doctorate at Columbia University School of Law.

She is also a civil rights lawyer who wants to prioritise affordable housing and top-quality schooling. Wiley was previously chair of the Civilian Complaint Review Board and has worked tirelessly for diversity and social mobility.

Maya Wiley’s husband is millionaire Harlan Mandel. He is chief executive of Media Development Investment Fund and is thought to have a net worth of about $2 million.
Mandel gained his bachelors degree from the University of Pennyslvania in international relations and Asian studies. He then achieved his doctorate at the Columbia University School Of Law, attending at the same time as his future wife.
Mandel subsequently attended Harvard Business School’s executive programme in 2014.
Maya Wiley has two daughters with 50-year-old Harlan, their names are Naja and Kai Wiley Mandel. The family live together in Brooklyn.
