In January 2020, NBA star Kobe Bryant, 41, and his daughter Gigi, 13, died in a freak helicopter crash. There was a huge outcry of support for his family and an outpouring of emotion at his sudden death.

Two years after his death there is an ongoing court case over photos taken at the crash site. Due to ongoing media attention Kobe Bryant’s autopsy report drawing, which was filed in 2020, has gone viral on Twitter.

Seven other passengers died during the crash in Calabasas, California, after the helicopter flew during foggy conditions. Bryant’s autopsy report was released after a public records request and was also reported on by the media in 2020.

We take a closer look at the details of what happened to the NBA star.

Who was Kobe Bryant?

Kobe Bryant, aka Kobe Bean Bryant, was born on August 23, 1978 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was an an American basketball player known for a hugely successful NBA career.

Bryant decided not to go to college and declared himself eligible for the NBA when he graduated from high school. He was picked up by the Charlotte Hornets as the 13th pick of the 1996 draft.

Bryant went on to lead the LA Lakers to five championships in the NBA from 2000 to 2002, and 2009 to 2010.

Bryant inherited his basketball talent from his father Joe “Jelly Bean” Bryant, who was also a professional basketball player, playing for eight seasons in the NBA.

NBA star was supposed to host Grammys that night

Kobe and his daughter Gigi Bryant passed away on 26 January 2020 in Calabasas, California. They died during a helicopter accident that also killed seven other passengers.

The pair were headed to Gianna’s basketball game at the Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks, California. However, the helicopter crashed on the way during foggy conditions.

When the helicopter hit the ground it was flying at about 296kph (184mph) but an investigation found no sign of mechanical failure.

Kobe Bryant’s death shocked the sporting world. He was supposed to host the Grammy Awards that very evening. Instead, the ceremony was changed to a partial tribute to the NBA star.

Kobe Bryant’s autopsy report drawing goes viral after Twitter ‘leak’

Kobe Bryant’s autopsy report, including the coroner’s drawings, has been going viral on Twitter after one user supposedly ‘leaked’ the content.

However, autopsy reports are available to access in California under a Public Records Request, and the reports have been available since the accident in 2020.

Users have been sharing their reactions to the saddening content in the reports and sending their love to the Bryant family two years after the death of NBA star Kobe.

Kobe Bryant’s wife is Vanessa Bryant. Vanessa is a former model and music video star from Los Angeles. The pair met on the set of a music video when she was 17.

he NBA star called himself a proud “girl dad” after he and Vanessa had four daughters. Natalia ‘Nani’ Bryant was born in January 2003 and is 19 years old. Gianna was born in May 2006 and had ambitions to join the NBA before her passing.

The two youngest daughters are Bianka and Capri, born in 2016 and 2019 respectively.
