CNN presenter Anderson Cooper shared a sweet tribute to former The Ridiculist writer Faith Kleppinger as he revealed she had died after battling a rare appendix cancer. Now fans of The Ridiculist are curious to know more about the writer.

Who is ex-CNN writer Faith Kleppinger?

Faith Kleppinger was a writer best known for her work on CNN’s The Ridiculist segment. She started her career with the news media company in 1994 after graduating from college.

During her time at CNN, she helped craft popular segment The Ridiculist, which featured the more lighthearted and funny stories of the day.

Kleppinger left CNN after working for the media company for more than a decade.

Away from her career at CNN, Faith Kleppinger is also a singer and musician and has released three albums.

She released her first album, Asleep In The Well, in 2002, with her second album, No Galore, soon after in 2004. The singer released her third album, Boulevards, in 2008.

Anderson Cooper shares message of support to Kleppinger after cancer diagnosis

In February, Kleppinger was diagnosed with a rare appendix cancer. Presenting as part of his 360 show on 24 May 2021, Anderson Cooper shared a message of support to Kleppinger in a segment entitled For A Friend amid her diagnosis.

In the segment, he looked back on some of Kleppinger’s highlights during her time at CNN, as well as the times her scripts had Cooper in hysterics.

He ended the sweet message to Kleppinger by saying: “Faith, tonight all of us at CNN send you more love as well. Tonight and in all the nights ahead.”

Cooper has since tweeted the tribute to Kleppinger on Twitter as he echoed the same message of hope.

Anderson Cooper announces death of friend and former CNN writer

Anderson Cooper announced the death of his former The Ridiculist co-star and writer Faith Kleppinger today Wednesday, 16 June.

Paying tribute to Kleppinger on his 360 show he began: “A few weeks ago we told you that our friend and colleague, Faith Kleppinger, had been diagnosed with a rare appendix cancer.

“Faith was the brains and the talent behind our The Ridiculist. She wrote them and we wanted you to know how much we loved her and were routing for her.”

Cooper continued: “Early this morning Faith lost her battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family, surrounded by good people who loved her fiercely.”

We send our sincere condolences to Faith’s family and friends.
