On 24 July 2019, David Perdue (@perduesenate) used social media to celebrate National Cousin Day, honouring his first cousin Sonny Perdue with an uploaded photograph of the pair.
@perduesenate also used Instagram to wish his cousin a happy birthday with the same image post in 2018.
The pair grew up in Bonaire and reportedly spent a lot of time at the White Diamond Grill, a restaurant where they each caught up with Houston Home Journal in a 2018 interview.
