The new film No Sudden Move was released yesterday on HBO-Max and fans are loving the twisting turns of this neo-noir inspired criminal heist movie. Brendan Fraser has made a triumphant return to the big screen, but fans have noticed that he has put on a quite a bit of weight. This is due to an exciting upcoming role for The Mummy star in Darren Aronofsky’s new film The Whale. We give you all the details.
What happened to Brendan Fraser?
Brendan Fraser became an immediate Hollywood heart-throb when he starred in The Mummy franchise in the early 2000s alongside Rachel Weiz.
Fans fell in love with his quick wit, incredible athletic prowess and impressive mummy-fighting abilities.
However, recently Brendan Fraser has put on a bit of extra weight and fans noticed this in his new movie No Sudden Moves.

This sudden weight gain is in preparation for his new film The Whale where he plays a morbidly obese recluse.
The film is going to be directed by Darren Aronofsky, of Mother! and Black Swan fame, and stars Fraser as an English teacher suffering from obesity and depression who wants to reconnect with his estranged daughter.
Fans were also worried about Fraser as he had previously taken some time away from acting.
The George Of The Jungle star struggled with a series of injuries after his work on The Mummy films. He told GQ:
“I needed a laminectomy. And the lumbar didn’t take, so they had to do it again a year later.”
He had a partial knee replacement, work on his back, and even had to have work done on his vocal chords. Over the subsequent seven years the constant surgeries and treatment meant Fraser was regularly in hospital.
However, fans will be glad to know Fraser is beginning to return to Hollywood, with recent roles in Doom Patrol and Professionals.
What is No Sudden Move about?
No Sudden Move is a heist movie about a group of small-time criminals who unite to steal a document.
However, as in most heist movies, things don’t go to plan. Set in 1955 Detroit these gangsters must deal with an ever-changing situation in a fast-paced city brimming with racial tension.
The film is from the mind of Steven Soderbergh, who also directed the hit Oceans films starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney.
