Andre Abdoune is a French businessman who now lives in Dubai. He is the chief executive of Altius Gestion International Holding, according to the National.
Speaking to AFP about his purchase, Abdoune said: “I come from a poor family, and I knew at times how it feels to have nothing to eat, but at least I had the love of my parents, schooling, and support. The painting was very powerful when I saw it, and, for me, it would have been a mistake to separate the pieces.”
Abdoune said he is planning a “second step” for the painting, hoping to raise even more money for charity, without providing further details. The artist has revealed that Abdoune intends to build a museum to house the painting.

One report referred to Abdoune as a billionaire, although this statement cannot be verified.
