Rumours of the death of rapper YFN Lucci are circulating social media after WSBTV’s Michael Seiden and Mark Winne claimed prosecutors alleged YSL members attempted to murder the rapper. The news surfaced after Young Thug and Gunna were reportedly indicted on RICO charges on Monday night (9 May 2022).
Young Thug, Gunna and 26 other members of YSL (Young Slime Life or Young Stoner Life) were arrested on Monday in Atlanta, Georgia, on charges of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influences And Corrupt Organisations Act (RICO), as reported by The NY Times.
Following the reports, YFN Lucci death rumours began circulating after the WBSTV journalists claimed two YSL members asked Young Thug for permission to “make a second attempt (to) murder” YFN Lucci while he’s in Fulton County Jail.
There has been no confirmation of his passing at the time of writing and may just be confusion arising from the reports. Young Thug’s legal representatives have denied all charges against him.

Young Thug and Gunna named in 56-count indictment
Seiden stated the document accuses the YSL members of conspiring to “associate together and with others for the common purposes of illegally obtaining money and property through a pattern of racketeering activity and conducting and participating in the enterprise through a pattern of racketeering activity”.
While Gunna is being accused of only one count, Young Thug – real name Jeffery Lamar Williams – is also accused of participation in criminal street gang activity, as per the indictment tweeted by Seiden.
There are a total of 56 counts in the 88-page document, including armed robbery and aggravated assault.
Williams’ defence attorney, Brian Steel, told reporters: “I’ll tell you the response to any allegation; Mr Williams committed no crime whatsoever and we will fight to my last drop of blood to clear him.”
Thug is expected to make his first appearance in court on Tuesday, 10 May at 11.30am local time. Gunna hasn’t been booked into jail at the time of writing and has yet to make any comment.
Rumours of YFN Lucci’s death circulates Twitter
Further into the Twitter thread, Seiden referred to prosecutors who alleged “two associates of YSL… worked to get permission of Young Thug to make a second attempt to murder YFN Lucci”.
In early March, Lucci claimed he had been stabbed by a fellow inmate a month earlier, as first reported by TMZ. In court documents obtained by the outlet, the rapper – real name Rayshawn Lamar Bennett – claimed he was “stabbed from behind while on a video call with someone on the outside” and said an inmate “used a homemade shank”.
There has been no confirmation about the attack.
Young Thug and YFN Lucci’s feud began in 2017
The YSL and YFNBC groups have had a long-running feud, according to The Atlanta Objective. Thug and Lucci have been arguing on social media since 2017.
The Stoner rapper called himself the new Tupac, prompting Lucci to tweet back: “Pac would’ve never wore a dress,” in reference to Thug’s 2016 mixtape, Jeffery.
Thug replied with a series of vague tweets:
Their beef seemed to die down in 2018 after they both appeared on TI’s 2018 album Dime Trap. By March 2019, however, Young Thug claimed he was going to slap Lucci. It caused YFN to retaliate he “ain’t slapping nobody”.
Thug’s wife, Jerrika Karlae, was also dragged into the feud when Lucci told her: “Ya husband ain’t nun.”
