In 2012, Andraia also featured in the music video for the song, Electric Light, by the band Muscle Hawk.
Eddie Van Halen’s son rocks on
Wolfgang Van Halen is an American musician known for being the bassist in Van Halen from 2006 until 2020. At just 29 years old, he was the youngest member of the band.
Wolfgang is the son of the late Eddie Van Halen, who passed away on 6 October this year. His mum is Valerie Bertinelli, the host of Valerie’s Home Cooking on Food Network. Following their divorce in 2007, Eddie and Valerie remained close and continued parenting together.
In an interview with Guitar World, Wolfgang mentioned he didn’t know his father was a musician until he started picking up CDs with Eddie’s face on them.
In the same interview, Wolfgang talked about how he got into playing music, first with drums and then bass.
He said: “Whenever dad rehearsed, I would sit on the floor and watch the band play. Whenever I had the chance, I would always try to sit on my uncle Al’s drum kit and bang away.
“I went over to bass right before we started rehearsing together. My dad started asking if I wanted to jam with him. I always viewed bass as an easier version of guitar, but as soon as I started playing it I realised how wrong that was.”
Wolfgang appeared on Van Halen’s 2012 album A Different Kind Of Truth – this was his only studio album with the band.
