Kymberly Herrin, who was cast in 1989’s Road House with Patrick Swayze, has passed away, but who was the former Playboy model?
It was confirmed on Tuesday, November 15, Herrin had died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 65, according to an obituary in the Santa Barbara News-Press.
Throughout her life, during which she remained a resident in Santa Barbara, Herrin was best known for her work as a model but also starred in music videos and several movies, including the 1989 hit Road House, alongside Patrick Swayze.

Herrin was born in Santa Barbara, California, in 1957 and, according to IMDb, she is of mixed French-Swedish-Filipino descent. The actress graduated from Santa Barbara Senior High School in 1975, before going on to get her first modeling job in 1981.
In the same year, she became Playmate of the Month in the March 1981 issue of Playboy – Herrin would go on to pose for covers for Playboy in September 1982 and September 1983.
Herrin went on to model for other large clients such as Ralph Lauren and FIT magazine and also did fitness and swimwear ads.
The actual cause of her death hasn’t been revealed. But, her family has asked fans to make donations in her memory to the American Cancer Society to further the research on the prevention and treatment of breast cancer.

After modeling Herrin moved into acting, starring in the music video for “Legs” by ZZ Top and in KISS’ eXposed. She even made a guest appearance on an episode of the TV series Matt Houston, both in 1982.
Following her screen debuts, Herrin went on to star in several movies including Romancing The Stone, Ghostbusters (both in 1984), and Beverly Hills Cop II in 1987.
She played Angelina in the prologue for Romancing The Stone – which starred Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, and Danny Devito – and had a particularly memorable role in Ghostbusters as she played the role of “Dream Ghost” as Dan Aykroyd was having an erotic dream in the movie.
In the second Beverly Hills Cop movie she was aptly cast as a Playboy Playmate, this was all before she went on to star in Road House with the late great Patrick Swayze.

Swayze takes on the role of Dalton in Road House who’s a tough bouncer hired to tame a dirty bar in Missouri. Dalton comes across Herrin’s Party Girl in the bar and several other partying friends.

According to Herrin’s obituary, she loved to travel and sail, a passion that inspired her to live aboard a 75-foot yacht for “several years”.
