Rapper Gunna has been arrested and booked into the Fulton County Jail on RICO charges, TMZ reports.

The same publication states that Gunna’s arrest comes just two days after Young Thug’s property was raided prior to his arrest.

Amid news of Gunna and Young Thug’s arrest, an old clip from podcast Million $ Worth of Game has resurfaced, seeing host Wallo detail his time in prison.

Wallo then goes on to warn “young people” about the lifestyle that he previously led.

So, who is Wallo and why is his podcast clip resurfacing amid Gunna and Young Thug’s arrest? Here’s what we know.

Who is Wallo?

Wallace Peeples, better known as Wallo or Wallo267 on Instagram, is the co-host of the Million $ Worth of Game podcast.

Wallo, 41, is a successful entrepreneur and podcaster now, but he’s previously been candid about his less than smooth-sailing star in life.

According to Earn Your Leisure, Wallo was sentenced to 20 years in jail for armed robbery in the 1990s when he was just 17 years old. On his podcast, he revealed that he also spent 5 years in a juvenile system prior to the time he spent inside for armed robbery.

“[I] did more time in prison than on earth,” Wallo once shared.

During his time in prison, Peeples had a lot of time to reflect and became an avid reader. He then went on to interview new inmates, asking them what was going on in the world outside of prison.

When released, Wallo discovered the power of social media and went on a venture to increase his own social media following. Since, he has gained partnerships with the likes of  NFL Network, Global Citizen, Foot Locker, and Puma.

Podcast clip resurfaces amid Young Thug arrest

More recently, amid the arrest of rapper Young Thug, a clip from Wallo’s podcast has resurfaced online.

Wallo recalls his own experience of spending time in prison as a youth, and how he felt that he needed to change his life for the better. He then ‘warned’ the “young people” and “rappers” to avoid getting themselves into trouble when trying to prove themselves.

“Don’t finesse yourself out of position and out of opportunities to change your family and generations in your family life,” the co-host tells the podcast guests, including Young Thug.

As reported by the BBC, rapper Young Thug – real name Jeffery Lamar Williams – has been arrested on charges including participating in criminal street gang activity.

Young Thug has denied all charges. Williams’ defence attorney, Brian Steel, told reporters: “I’ll tell you the response to any allegation; Mr Williams committed no crime whatsoever and we will fight to my last drop of blood to clear him.”

Young Thug made his first appearance in court on Tuesday, 10 May at 11.30 am local time.
