PW Insider reported on Monday (August 8, 2022) that “several WWE sources” had told the publication John Laurinaitis had been “officially, quietly, let go” – but who is John’s wife Kathy?

John Laurinaitis is a former professional wrestler who worked in WWE’s talent relations office for eight years before stepping down to become a producer.

He returned to the role of head of talent relations at WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) in March 2021, but the security of his position started to waver in April 2022, CNBC reports.

What do we know about his relationship with wife Kathy – when did they marry, do they have kids, and what happened to her that meant she required brain surgery last year?

The next game of the night features famous twin athletes and top divas Nikki and Brie Bella, stars of “Total Bellas,” opposing a team of champion mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters on a star-studded episode of “Celebrity Family Feud,” airing SUNDAY, AUG. 18 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. Who is John Laurinaitis’ wife Kathy Colace?

Kathy Colace Laurinaitis is an American businesswoman. She founded business development company JBN & Associates in 1999 and has sat on the boards of the NBA’s Phoenix Suns and Suns Nite Hoops.

Born October 19, 1964, Kathy will turn 58 this year. She married first husband Jon Garcia in 1984.

Their marriage ended in divorce after four years but not before they had three children: twin daughters Stephanie Nicole “Nikki” Garcia-Colace and Brianna Monique Garcia-Colace, and son JJ Garcia-Colace.

Kathy and Jon’s daughters born in 1983 are better known as The Bella Twins. They’re WWE professional wrestlers and reality TV personalities. JJ has also appeared on television.

When did John and Kathy get together?

Kathy Colace and John Laurinaitis became engaged on September 3, 2015 and became husband and wife in March 2016. Their private ceremony took place on March 24, according to wrestling outlet Gerweck, on a yacht in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Is Kathy his first wife?

Yes. Kathy is John Laurinaitis’ first wife. When they married, Nikki and Brie became his stepdaughters and JJ his stepson.

He also has a daughter of his own. Maya Laurinaitis debuted as a full-time cast member of reality TV series Total Bellas during its fourth season, in January 2019.

She’s an aspiring model and has more than 50,000 Instagram followers at time of writing. Kathy, her stepmother, congratulated her for graduating high school in May 2019; she’s 20 years old and will turn 21 in February 2023.

Via his marriage to Kathy Colace, John has three step-grandchildren. Brie married Bryan Danielson in April 2014 and they have two children, Birdie and Buddy. Nikki, meanwhile, gave birth to her first child, Matteo Chigvintsev, on July 31, 2020. His father is Artem Chigvintsev, a Russian-American professional Latin dancer.

What happened to Kathy Laurinaitis that meant she required brain surgery?

In 2020, Kathy was misdiagnosed with Bell’s Palsy. She’d started to feel dizzy during Super Bowl Sunday. The following day, her daughter Brianna confirmed her fears: the left side of her face was drooping.

After what appeared at the time to be a solid recovery, she started to experience nausea, lack of balance and sensitivity in her left eye.

A neurologist told her they’d found a mass on her brain stem the size of a blueberry. They scheduled surgery for the following week. The conversations Kathy and John had with Nicole and Brianna on Total Bellas became what the Brain Injury Alliance of Arizona Blog (BIAAZ) calls a “very real-life reality show moment.”

Ultimately, the 14-hour surgery turned out to be a success but not before a brain hemorrhage caused partial facial paralysis. In April 2022, BIAAZ put on a fundraiser with Kathy at its center. See a brief interview with Kathy and John below:
