Hailee Steinfeld has made a splash recently thanks to her starring role in Marvel’s Hawkeye and her unrecognisable get-up at the 2021 Met Gala. Her loyal fans couldn’t even recognise her, but did her boyfriend, if she has one?

24-year-old Hailee Steinfeld began her career aged 11 but her breakthrough came after co-starring in Pitch Perfect 2. Portraying Emily, Steinfeld showcased her acting talent and strong set of pipes, launching her pop music career.

13 years later, Steinfeld is going viral for acting and fashion. Her latest role as Kate Bishop in Hawkeye, alongside Jeremy Renner, is the actress’ biggest TV gig and she’s making the world do a double-take with her incomparable Met Gala costume.

Since she’s been making waves in Hollywood her love life has been under the paparazzi microscope, although she does try to keep it on the down-low.

Who is Hailee Steinfeld’s boyfriend?

Steinfeld doesn’t seem to be dating anyone currently since her social media doesn’t show any loved-up shots and she hasn’t been pictured with anyone recently.

In 2017, the then 20-year-old actress was rumoured to be seeing Justin Bieber and you know their passionate fanbases went berserk. Bieber had broken up with his wife Hailey Baldwin in 2016, and TMZ reported he moved on with a new ‘Hailey’.

However, the actress quickly denied the rumours in an interview with W Magazine, stating” “It’s crazy. I don’t know why people make such a big deal. We’re friends. We’ve been friends for years.”

Hailee Steinfeld’s past relationship with Niall Horan

Her highest-profile relationship was with One Direction’s Niall Horan, who she dated from December 2017 to December 2018.

Although the pair never made it social media official, they were captured making out at BBC Music’s Biggest Weekend in Swansea, in May 2018. It was the perfect time for the couple to reunite, since they were both part of the line-up.

The photo showed them sitting side by side at a table with friends, and BBC Radio 1 producer Fiona Hanlon confirmed to Nick Grimshaw on the Breakfast Show “they were snogging, they were so cute”.

Us Weekly reported the cause of the split was busy work schedules but that wasn’t the last time their relationship became headline news.

On New Year’s Eve, she promoted the billboard for her movie Bumblebee, but it was the caption that got fans talking. She wrote: “I bet you think of me when you see this driving down sunset” and Directioners knew Niall was in LA at the time, convincing them Steinfeld was taking a jab at him.

Fast forward a day later, fans suspected the actress was shading the boyband member yet again through an Instagram story repost where she replied “preach it”, to a photo saying “no more dating narcissists”.

On top of that, the singer’s single Wrong Direction undoubtedly had fans assuming the song was about Niall. I mean, wrong direction? That’s not subtle at all. Obviously, Steinfeld never admitted the inspiration, but she did note that it was “more difficult to write”.

Hailee Steinfeld and Cameron Smoller

During the Bieber rumours, she was reported to actually have been dating Cameron Smoller from 2016 to late 2017. Her relationship with Smoller was more public since the couple frequently featured each other on Instagram and made their debut at a Golden Globes party in early 2017.

From his profile, we assume Smoller works for investment company HCN Ventures and he is allegedly the brother of Cully Smoller, Gigi Hadid’s friend and former assistant.

Their last shared photo on Instagram was in November 2017, so we can only assume the couple ended things around that time.
