Jay Leno’s recent accident has people wondering where his Garage is, so we’ve done a deep dive into his collection and tour.

The 72-year-old TV host and comedian confirmed yesterday he had suffered “serious burns” but is in stable condition following a gasoline fire at his car garage.

Leno was taken to the Grossman Burn Center where he was treated for his injuries and in a statement, he said: “I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am OK. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet.”

Where is Jay Leno’s garage?

Leno was the host of The Tonight Show for almost two decades – during which he attracted about 4.8 million viewers to his five-nights-a-week show – until he left in 2009 and was replaced by Conan O’Brien.

In 2015 he fully moved on from the show when he began his own CNBC series called Jay Leno’s Garage and the eighth season of the show launched in August this year.

Over the years he’s had a range of celebrity guests, including his most recent being President Joe Biden, who was on the show to promote electric vehicles, at Leno’s garage.

Leno’s Big Dog Garage is located in Burbank, LA, and is set over 140,000 square feet which are managed by Leno and five staff members.

TMZ reported that one of the vehicles in his garage burst into flames, leaving Leno with burns.

Jay Leno’s Garage Tour

Although Leno has a show on CNBC showing off his garage and, often, his own cars, you don’t have to be Joe Biden to get an exclusive look around as the TV host has brought the cameras in for a tour several times.

David Lee, the Chairman and CEO of Hing Wa Lee Group, once brought two of his F50s for his tenth appearance on the show and Leno gave Lee a thorough in-depth look into the garage.

In the video, Leno gives Lee a look at some of his impressive classic cars, including a 1913 Mercer Raceabout which he would argue is the “first sports car” and even an electric vehicle dating all the way back to the early 20th century, the 1909 Baker Electric Motor.

Leno showed Lee a car he had a particular love for, the 1994 McLaren F1 which he purchased back in the late 90s.

How many cars does Jay Leno have in his collection?

Even just having a small peek into the Big Dog Garage in tour videos it’s safe to say Leno is not short of a car or two – his car collection is a pretty hefty one.

Leno has been collecting cars for decades now so his collection is extensive and reports can differ on exactly how many cars he has, but in a 2021 interview with Auto Express, they reported that he had 198 cars and 163 motorcycles.

As this is over a year old it’s very possible the star will have invested in new vehicles since.

How much is Jay Leno’s car collection worth?

Having all those cars not only cost Leno a fair bit, but since he’s put love and care into his passions, his collection is worth an absolute fortune.

Of course, as with the exact number of cars, reports do differ as to their worth, but the collection is approximately worth $150 million.

However, if we look at the fact just 11 of his cars are worth around $50 million alone, it’s safe to say his collection could be worth even more.

According to Hot Cars, Leno has a 1934 Duesenberg Walker Coup which alone is worth around $20 million and the 1994 McLaren F1 he showed off to David Lee is valued at around $12 million. And Strikingly, the most impressive car in his collection is the 2006 EcoJet, which is has been declared to be “priceless”.
