General Hospital alum Steve Burton, 51, has made headlines after announcing he has separated from his pregnant wife, Sheree. Burton also claimed that the ‘child isn’t his’ in a revealing Instagram story, but Sheree has not yet commented on his announcement.
Steve’s announcement comes almost six months after he was fired from General Hospital for not complying with the show’s coronavirus vaccine mandate. Following his exit from the soap opera in November 2021, the actor has been keeping a fairly low profile.
However, it appears he always shares his big news on Instagram. He made both his GH leaving announcement in a video on his page, along with the recent Instagram story concerning his marriage. GH alum Steve Burton separating from pregnant wife
Steve and Sheree have ended their marriage after 23 years together. The couple had been married since 1999 and share three children, Makena, 18, Jack, 16, and Brooklyn, seven. Steve, 51, appeared on General Hospital on and off between 1999 and 2021. Whereas Sheree, 47, works as a nutritionist and diet coach.
The General Hospital alum revealed news of the split in an Instagram story announcing: “I wanted to clear something up. Sheree and I are separated. She recently announced she’s expecting her fourth child. The child is not mine. We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Much love, Steve.”

Steve Burton states wife’s ‘child isn’t his’
Burton made the split announcement on Wednesday 4th May 2022. In the statement, he claimed that Sheree was pregnant with another man’s baby. However, Sheree has not yet spoken about the separation or paternity of her child.
Sheree Burton, whose maiden name is Gustin, recently posted a photo of her baby bump on her Instagram story with the caption “Life sure is full of surprises!” The post is no longer available to view on Instagram but it was re-shared to a fan blog.
Burton appears to have a positive mental outlook judging from his Instagram account which is full of inspirational messages from the actor. Most of his captions and videos end with his personal motto, “Don’t settle” and it appears that it is exactly the rule he has lived by.
Sheree has yet to speak about the split or her pregnancy. The Focus has reached out to Steve and Sheree for comment.
