Adult film star and reality TV personality Sophie Anderson has set up a GoFundMe to raise money for reconstructive surgery on her breasts following her fourth bout of sepsis in a year. What happened, and where can you donate?
What happened to Sophie Anderson for her to require breast reconstructive surgery?
According to the GoFundMe Sophie set up four days ago, categorised under Accidents & Emergencies, this is the adult film star’s fourth bout of sepsis in a year.
Unfortunately, this flare-up has been especially bad. In her own words, the area around Sophie Anderson’s breast implant “got a pus build-up”.
That required medical attention, which left her with necrosis. She said: “The dead skin died and the implant totally came through the skin.” Anderson now needs to have the implant removed entirely to save her body from sepsis.
What would that mean for Sophie’s health?
Sepsis is a potentially life-threatening condition that occurs when a body responds to an infection by damaging its own tissue. It can cause organs to function poorly and abnormally. Ultimately, it can lead to severe organ problems and death.
Her plan, at time of organising the fundraiser, was to return to the South Florida Plastic Surgery clinic after three months and start her breast implant journey again from 800cc.

According to Stacy Peterson MD, 800cc is the largest standard breast implant size available. “Implant sizes start at 175cc and go up to 800cc. Most augmentation patients like the 375cc to 500cc range.”
Her latest GoFundMe update: Implant ‘explosion’ explained
Sophie Anderson set up her fundraiser four days ago and thanked fans for their support. So far it has raised more than £7,500 of its £20,000 goal.
However, according to an update posted the following day (11 March 2022), her implant “exploded” on the night of the 10th.

“It’s a real blow,” she wrote. She included a picture, writing: “I’m sorry you have to see my breast like this.” You can see it on the GoFundMe page here. Warning: graphic content.
“I managed to get into hospital but now I’ve got to wait till I can get my reconstruction of breasts,” Sophie continued.
On the same day, she posted a photo of herself in a hospital gown, with the caption: “Nothing will take away our smiles.”
