According to regional news outlet North Cook News, she is a native of west suburban Oak Park. She graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School.

Janice Atlas (then Janice Rossi) apparently met her future husband, Scott Atlas, by the underground vending machine in the undergraduate library at the University of Illinois.

In the University News Gazette’s profile on Scott Atlas, the professor of neuroradiology is quoted as saying: “I used to take study breaks there, often convincing my more studious future wife – Janice Rossi, also an undergrad – to stop studying and take breaks with me during sophomore and junior years. We would sit there for hours and talk.”

The pair have been married for more than 30 years and have two sons together, both in their 20s.

Janice Atlas once shared a name with a character from Martin Scorsese’s 1990 classic gangster movie Goodfellas. However, that’s where the connection stops between the two!

He resigned from that position in the White House on 30 November. His 130-day grace period, during which he could serve with “special government employee” status, was almost over.
