Despite the internet being convinced Reese Witherspoon’s daughter Ava Philippe is her lookalike due to their striking features being so similar, the actor confessed she can’t see the ‘resemblance’.
Reese Witherspoon shares two children with ex-husband Ryan Philippe. Ava, 23, is their eldest daughter, followed by Deacon, 18. The actress has another son, Tennessee, 10, which is her youngest with current partner, Jim Toth.
With blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and a dimpled smile, the mother-and-daughter duo get mistaken for each other. Whenever Reese Witherspoon shares a picture with eldest daughter Ava, the comments section is filled with comments about how similar they look.
However, the Legally Blonde actress confessed to not seeing a ‘resemblance’ herself.
The internet jokes Reese Witherspoon’s daughter is her clone
Last month, the 46-year-old uploaded a photo on her Instagram account to celebrate National Daughter Day.
“Always feeling very lucky to have my wonderful, creative, talented daughter in my life!” she wrote in a message shared with her 28.4 million followers.
“What a gift to share this life journey with you… and the best makeup tips… it’s really great to share beauty tips, dog memes, and the same shoe size. Makes life so fun!”
The actress is said to have a very close relationship with her daughter, and she is often featured on her social media.
The comment section was flooded by fans who pointed out the uncanny resemblance between the two. Some say it is almost impossible to differentiate between them.
A fan wrote: “Never get over how alike you two are.”
“And you’re on the left of this pic? No…right? Left?…ri…left….no right,” a second fan commented.
A third fan claimed: “Copy and paste!!!”
“OMGGGGG it’s like looking at yourself. Reese,” another follower said.
Reese ‘can’t see resemblance’ with Ava
During an appearance on Today with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager to present her new children’s book, Busy Betty, the three spoke about her relationship with her three children as well as parenting hacks.
Both hosts referred to the actress and daughter as “twins”. However, Reese confessed to not seeing it at all.
“Y’all are twins. Do you see it?” Jenna said, pointing at the picture of the two together, to which the actress told the host: “She and I don’t see [the resemblance] that much.”
Surprisingly, Reese isn’t the only person who doesn’t agree with the doppelgänger comparison. Her ex-husband, Ryan, believes her daughter’s resemblance comes more from his side of the family.
Pointing out their children’s resemblance, the actor said that their son Deacon “actually looks a lot more like Reese’s side of the family, and Ava looks more like mine”.
