Famed ballet dancer Misty Copeland has revealed she and husband Olu Evans have welcomed their first baby together.
Copeland shared the arrival of her new bundle of joy with People this week as she reflected on becoming a first-time mother and how she prefers to keep her personal life out of the spotlight.

Meet Misty Copeland’s husband, Olu Evans
While Misty has become known for her achievements across the world of ballet, her husband has a background in law.
According to Hollywood Life, Olu is an alumni of Emory University and passed the bar in 2007.
He has since reportedly gone on to specialize in corporate law with Heavy reporting he previously worked as part of Quinn Emanuel trial lawyers.
Olu is related to Broadway actor Taye Diggs
While Olu married into the world of showbiz through his ballerina wife, he is also the cousin of actor Taye Diggs.
Taye, who is known for his roles in Broadway classics Rent and Hedwig And The Angry Inch, is reportedly how Olu and Misty first crossed paths.
In a 2014 interview with Elle, Misty explained they first met 10 years before at a nightclub. At the time, Taye, who was at the club alongside Olu, was said to have introduced the pair.
Taye has previously shared how they are related on social media. In 2014, the actor shared a snap of them both on Twitter as he wrote: “That’s Olu Evans. My cousin. Misty’s man.”

The couple, who had been together for more than a decade, celebrated their nuptials in a ceremony held in Laguna Beach, California.
