He’s provided commentary for the sport for 16 years, and is himself a former professional golfer.

Many will be sad to see (or hear) Sir Nick bow out of the business. Fans of the sport will recognise his distinctive voice from BBC Sport, the Golf Channel and CBS Sports.

What is Nick Faldo’s net worth in 2022?

Several reference sites agree that Nick Faldon’s net worth, at time of retirement in 2022, is in the region of $60 million.

That’s just under £49 million – despite working for an American television network, Faldon is English. He hails from Welwyn Garden City, a large town in Hertfordshire, England.

The Richest notes that his company Nick Faldo (International) owned just over £1m ($1.2m) in assets in 2010. That was 12 years ago.

His business empire and properties combined would “normally” bring Nick Faldo’s net worth to “about £54m” ($66m), the outlet adds, but his three divorces have apparently cost him as much as £20m ($24.5m).

Born 18 July 1957, Sir Nicholas Alexander Faldo started playing golf at the age of 14. He’s now 64.

His professional career took flight in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He won two consecutive Sun Alliance PGA Championships in England, in 1980 and 1981, and finished top of the Order of Merit in 1983.

Per Fine Golf Books, as of January 2015, Faldo had made the equivalent of $8.4m in European Tour earnings, and $5 million in US PGA Tour earnings.

He claimed the European Tour Order of Merit a second time in 1992, and had worldwide earnings of £1,558,978 ($1,913,770) – in a single year.

That year, The Gigantic Book of Golf Quotations cites him as saying: “The run doesn’t have to end. If someone is going to beat me then I’m going to make sure they’ve worked for their victory. Let them come and get it from me.”

His tournament earnings are among the highest in the world

The Richest has financial data relating to Faldo’s tournament earnings each year.

Starting in 1978 and ending in 2018, you can see how much he made during every single year as a competitor. The yearly tallies are also interspersed with total figures for certain periods.

For example, from 446 tournaments in the European Tour from the year 1976 to 2017, Nick Faldo’s total official prize money was apparently $8,850,000.

His US PGA Tour earnings, as of January 2013, totalled $6,840,000.

What was Nick Faldo’s salary as a CBS Sports analyst and commentator?

Besides record-breaking career earnings as a professional golfer, Nick Faldo made a healthy salary as a lead sports analyst for CBS.

His multi-year deal, signed October 2006, was reportedly worth $8m. However, Southampton Golf Club writes that his commentating and analysis work for TV earned Nick Faldo a whopping $9 million annual salary, giving his net worth a significant yearly boost up until 2022.

Faldo was knighted in 2009 to honour his services to the sport of golf. He was the only athlete to receive the honour on Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday that year.

He previously received a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 1987. Four years later, he founded Faldo Design, an award-winning golf course design company.

The 2016 World Golf Awards named him Golf Course Designer of the Year. For more, visit his golf architecture website here.
