Who does Mason Dye play in Stranger Things? Meet popular jock Jason Carver

Mason and Jason, Jason and Mason. Dye joins the cast of Stranger Things’ fourth season, which officially aired today (27 May 2022).

Pop Sugar describes his character as “a handsome, popular jock” and notes that his on-screen girlfriend is “equally popular”. 

Said girlfriend, Chrissy Cunningham, is Hawkins High School’s head cheerleader, and most popular girl.

Carver’s Fandom page adds that he’s a “rich athlete”, but that his “perfect world” will begin to “unravel” as the season gets underway.

When Jason’s existence first became known, Murphy’s Multiverse described him as “the guy we thought Steve was going to be before we all fell in love with him”. It also added that Jason’s mouth “never quite shuts”.

What else has Stranger Things’ Mason Dye been in?

Mason Dye has 17 screen acting credits to his name; he’s been in the business for nearly a decade.

The 27-year-old actor hails from Shawnee, Oklahoma, and cut his teeth in Secret Diary Of An American Cheerleader (2013), in which he appeared as Brandon in eight episodes.

Other notable roles include Garrett in Teen Wolf (2014), Damon in Finding Carter (2015), and Tom Galligan in Bosch (2019-20).

You might also recognise him from Roommates (2016). He appeared in nine episodes – as Mason.

He has 203K followers on Instagram. Mason and his partner celebrated their fourth anniversary on 5 July last year.

His sister Taylor “Tae” Elizabeth Dye is also in the entertainment industry. She’s best known as half of country duo Maddie & Tae. They had some success in 2014 with the hit song, Girl In A Country Song.

Mason also has an older brother called Peston.
