Tweets by political worker Mary Lemanski went viral after she called the Wisconsin Christmas parade tragedy “karma” for the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse – now the internet is curious about her career and age after she deleted her social media. Let’s take a look…
The Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, on Sunday (21 November 2021) ended in tragedy with five deaths and dozens injured after an SUV drove into the crowds.
On Monday morning, the New York Post reported Mary Lemanski’s tweets had sparked outrage after she said the killer’s actions were “probably just self-defence” – the same argument made by Kyle Rittenhouse’s defence lawyers.
Jurors cleared 18-year-old Rittenhouse of killing two men and wounding a third with a military rifle after accepting claims he had feared for his life during riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Since then Lemanski, who has been let go from her position as social media manager for the Democratic Party of DuPage County, has deleted all her social media including Twitter.

Controversial tweets explained
Mary Lemanski tweeted the killer “probably felt threatened” living in Wisconsin, comparing it to Rittenhouse’s highly publicised acquittal on 19 November.
The 18-year-old was cleared of charges of intentional homicide, reckless homicide and reckless endangerment in the deaths of Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum, and the injury of Gaige Grosskreutz in August 2020.
“I’m sure (the SUV driver) didn’t want to hurt anyone. He came to help people,” Lemanski tweeted sarcastically, according to Fox News. Other tweets were reported as stating:
“I’m sad anytime anyone dies. I just believe in Karma and this came around quick on the citizens of Wisconsin. You reap what you sow. It’s sad people died, but when you open the door to vigilante justice, everyone seems threatening.
The blood of Kyle Rittenhouse’s victims is on the hands of Wisconsin citizens, even the children.”
The internet immediately responded with backlash, labelling her “insensitive” and “mean’. One Twitter user collated the tweets Lemanski reportedly posted:
