It has been announced that Detroit Tigers coach Kimera Bartee has died aged 49. As reported by the Detroit Free Press, Bartee died on Monday after collapsing while visiting family for the holidays. A cause of death is yet to be revealed.
Bartee, who had previously played four seasons with the Tigers, returned to the team as first base coach last season. Before he joined the Tigers he had also coached with Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies.

Did the late Kimera Bartee have a wife?
Bartee and Slide were seen to keep their relationship away from social media although the Tigers coach shared a rare snap alongside his fiancée on Instagram in celebration of her birthday in January.
As well as sharing a picture of them both together, he also posted a happy birthday graphic which read: “Happy Birthday! Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favourite.”
More recently, she featured in a group picture with Bartee and family as they attended a haunted house as part of their Halloween celebrations together:

Did Kimera Bartee have any children?
Yes, Kimera Bartee had three children, two sons, Amari, 21, and Andrew, 24, as well as daughter Taeja, 15.
Amari is seen to have shared his father’s love for baseball, having played the sport in college and more recently as part of the MLB Developmental League.
