Using SparkToro’s Fake Followers Audit tool, anyone can analyse any Twitter account “to uncover an estimated percentage of inactive, spam, bot, & other fake followers” – here’s our analysis of the Jenners and Kardashians’ Twitter accounts.

Who out of the Kardashians has the most fake Twitter followers?

Kim Kardashian has 72.4 million followers, 36.3 million of which are apparently “fake”. That’s just over 50%.

SparkToro’s Fake Followers tool defines “fake followers” as “accounts that are unreachable and will not see the account’s tweets (either because they’re spam, bots, propaganda, etc. or because they’re no longer active on Twitter)”.

That means Kim’s percentage of fake followers is significantly higher than the 41% median average among accounts with a following of a similar size.

Kourtney Kardashian, meanwhile, has a more modest (though still large) following of 26.5 million. However, 38.3% of them are “fake followers”, equal to nearly 10.2 million accounts.

And finally – of the Kardashian sisters – 42.1% of Khloé Kardashian’s 30 million Twitter followers are “fake”. That’s 12.6 million.

So out of the Kardashians, Kourtney has the lowest proportion of fake or spam Twitter followers. Kim has the largest proportion, and the highest number of supposed bot followers.

But what about the Jenners?

Who out of Kylie, Kendall, Kris and Caitlyn Jenner has the most fake Twitter followers?

Kylie Jenner has 39.9 million Twitter followers, 41.5% of which appear to be “fake”, i.e. “spam, bots, propaganda, etc., or “no longer active” on the platform.

Note: that’s about average for accounts with that many followers.

Kendall Jenner’s ratio is very similar. SparkToro’s Fake Followers Audit tool deems 41.1% of the accounts that follow her on Twitter to be “fake followers”. That’s 13.2 million out of a total of 32.1 million.

Kris Jenner has 12.3 million followers; 4.9 million (39.3%) are “fake”.

And finally, Caitlyn Jenner has 3.4 million followers, about 1 million of which are “fake”. Her percentage is much lower than the other members of the Jenner family, at under 31%.

That means Kylie is just about in first place, with Kendall coming a close second. About two out of every five followers on each of their Twitter accounts are “fake followers”, according to SparkToro’s auditing tool.

How do the Jenners and Kardashians’ real vs fake Twitter followers compare?

Of all the Twitter accounts analysed, Kim’s has the most followers. She also has by far the largest proportion of “fake followers”, according to SparkToro’s analytical tool.

In terms of “fake” followers as a proportion of real followers, Khloé is in second place overall – including the Jenners. About 42% of the accounts following her on Twitter are “fake”.

Next are Kylie and Kendall. Caitlyn’s Twitter account has the fewest “fake followers”, and the lowest proportion of “fake followers”, out of all the accounts analysed.

How does it work?

Want to have a go at using the tool yourself? It’s free and easy.

SparkToro’s Fake Follower Audit works by analysing a sample of 2,000 random accounts that follow the account you input.

It studies “25+ factors correlated with spam/bot/low quality accounts”. When many factors are present, it says, “there’s strong correlation with low quality”.
